Job Summary
The Fitness Instructor reports to the Club Managers and both Regional and Operations Managers. They are responsible for running the Planet Fitness group fitness program, PE@PF. This includes assisting members in the achievement of their fitness goals by designing simple workout programs and instructing them on the proper use of equipment as well as motivating members and creating a comfortable environment, so members feel encouraged to continue their training. This also includes assisting the team with oversight of gym operations and helping with day-to-day tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
Member Service

o   Create and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members and guests by following superior customer service guidelines. 
o   Addressing member issues, concerns, and complaints & elevating to management when necessary. 
Fitness Training & Instruction

o   Conduct and run the PE@PF program, including creating and following the class schedule. Consult with members regarding their fitness history, medical conditions and their fitness goals as well as instructing them on how to properly and safely use the equipment.
o   Create bi-weekly updates consisting of a variety of exercises.
o   Meet class requirements based on club size and member traffic.
o   Responsible for maintaining daily PE@PF club reports and filling out Monthly Excel report.

Communications & Marketing
o   Assist in facilitating monthly fitness challenges with members and community events such as local Boys and Girls Club workouts. 
o   Assist Team Leads and Management in performing daily Welcome Calls. 
o   Take part in all scheduled monthly Trainer Huddle calls via Zoom. 
o   Maintain communication in the GroupMe messenger by posting updates, sharing info about events, and recognizing one another for accomplishments such as anniversaries, birthdays, and ongoing certification renewals. 

Front Desk Related Activities & Operations
o   Check members into the system, addressing and updating member profiles as necessary.
o   Answer calls in a friendly, upbeat manner while following standard Info Call script. Assist callers with a variety of questions.
o   Take prospective members on tours, ensuring all prospects are input into the DGR and following guidelines for new member signups. 
o   Proficiency in knowledge/use of the PF Mobile App. 
o   Assist in facilitating all member requests, issues, and questions. 
o   Assist in maintaining the neatness and cleanliness of the club by keeping up with assigned cleaning tasks (when applicable) and performing walkthroughs as needed. 

Qualifications/Requirements
  • A passion for fitness and helping others.
  • Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
  • Exceptional leadership, diplomacy, and listening skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer software skills (Microsoft word, Excel, Google Docs, etc.)
  • A passion for fitness and health! Also - hardworking, motivated, enthusiastic, and energetic.
  • Strong problem resolution skills
  • Current CPR Certification required.
  • Nationally Certified Training Certificate required.
  • High School diploma/GED equivalent required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
Physical Demands
  • Continual standing and walking during shift.
  • Continual talking in person or on the phone during shift.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift to 50lbs.
  • Will occasionally encounter toxic chemicals during shifts. 



Compensation: $17.00 per hour
